Joe Wolverton's class of American History scholars re-created the famous Webster-Hayne debates of 1830. These debates centered on the nature of the American union and revealed the significant sectional strife that resulted in the Civil War.
Plans are being laid for a tri-campus debate tournament. Details are still being worked out, but the topics debated will be of contemporary and constitutional relevance.
