Dear Heritage Gateway Parents and Scholars,

We hope that email finds you and your family healthy and safe. As we are approaching the end of the 2019-2020 school year, we wanted to give you some updates and thank you for a great year.

!! Reminder that this week is the last week of new coursework in Google Classroom (with the exception of Dual Enrollment courses, those will continue through the end of the year). May 7th will be the last day of new instruction for the school year.

The final two weeks of school will give scholars time to complete any missing assignments and catch up on work from the quarter. If scholars are pleased with their grades starting on May 11th, they will not need to complete any additional work at that time, unless they are in a Dual Enrollment course. Those last two weeks will be time for scholars to work on completing missing assignments from the fourth quarter in order to improve their grades.

!! Here are a few dates to be aware of:

Thursday, May 7th – Last day of new course work (except for DE classes)

Monday, May 11th – Teacher gradebooks will be up to date by 5:00PM

Monday, May 11th, Wednesday, May 13th, and Thursday, May 14th from 8 am to 10 am there will be a drive-thru line for scholars to do one or more of the following:

  • Drop off sports uniforms
  • Turn in musical instruments
  • Turn in any textbooks or other school materials
  • Collect any personal belongings left at school.**
    • ** Please notify the classroom teacher ahead of time if your scholar has materials that need to be picked up, as scholars will not be allowed inside the building to retrieve items.
  • Look through the Lost and Found

Thursday, May 21st at 8:00 PM – Graduation:

Seniors will have a drive-in movie style graduation at Schnepf Farms. Due to limited space you must have a ticket to attend. Graduation will be broadcasted for all those wanting to watch. More details will follow in a future email to seniors and their families.

Thursday, May 21st – 11:00 AM- Virtual Awards Ceremonies broadcast via Facebook and Instagram Live:

While the entire ceremony will be virtual, families and scholars will be able to pick up awards and certificates at Heritage Academy in June. More details will be sent later.

Thank you for a great year. While many unexpected events have occurred this year and we are now living through some very unique times, I am grateful for your continued support. We truly have some of the most amazing scholars in the valley attending Heritage Gateway, and it is a privilege to work with your children each day; thank you for giving us this opportunity. We hope that you and your family have a great last few weeks of the school year and a wonderful summer and, most importantly, that you all stay safe and healthy. We can not wait to see your kids’ smiling faces back at school July 29th! Please expect continued communication from us as we get closer to the start of the 2020-2021 school year.

Thank you,

Kathleen Lopez, Principal
